Oyster Perpetual Day-Date
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF AN IDEAL
When midnight strikes, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date bridges the gap between past and future, between what has been accomplished and what remains to be done. Since 1956, it has stood as a witness to the great movements of history on the wrists of visionaries, virtuosos, and pioneers. Those who make each day a promise of what's to come.
When it was launched in 1956, the Day-Date was a major innovation: it was the first wristwatch with a calendar to indicate, in addition to the date, the day of the week in words in a semicircular window at 12 o'clock – a true technical feat at the time.
Exclusively made of precious metal – 18 ct yellow, grey or Everose gold or 950 platinum – and accompanied by its iconic President bracelet, the plurality of its dials makes it a privileged space for the expression of each individual.
The day-date speaks the language of the person who wears it
While the days are the same around the globe, they are written differently depending on the language. Using all writing systems—Latin, Arabic, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese ideograms, and even the Ge'ez alphabet used in the Horn of Africa—the Day-Date expresses the cultural particularities of its wearer. Available in 26 languages, it stands out as an international, universal, and personal watch.

THE MIDNIGHT MIRACLE: AN IDEAL OF PRECISION
At midnight, the date and day change simultaneously in their designated apertures on the dial. This horological feat, the "Midnight Miracle," relies on a disc mechanism. It is the result of many years of research: from 1950 to 1955, Rolex filed four patents for timepieces equipped with a calendar displaying the day and date.
Today, the Day-Date is equipped with a new generation movement, the calibre 3255, entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex for superlative performance.
THE PRESIDENTIAL BRACELET
Created specifically for the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date and unveiled in 1956 at the launch of this prestigious watch, the President bracelet with three links, crafted exclusively in 18k gold or 950 platinum, is still today reserved for the Day-Date as well as the Datejust in precious metal.
A VALUABLE ALLY
Worn over time by political figures, leaders, and visionaries worldwide, the Day-Date is instantly recognizable on the wrist, thanks in particular to its iconic President bracelet. This fitting name, combined with the stature of the individuals who have worn it, has earned the Day-Date the nickname "the watch of presidents.".
Eras come and go, but it remains where it was born, at the forefront of modernity. A prestigious timepiece and the fruit of Rolex's watchmaking expertise, the Day-Date continues to accompany personalities who, each in their own field, shape the world through their commitment, their human qualities, or their creative genius.
