Frederique Constant is a Swiss watch manufacturer based in Geneva. It was founded in 1988 by a couple of independent entrepreneurs, Aletta and Peter Stas, in order to offer quality Swiss watches at a very competitive price, with the aim of democratizing Swiss Made luxury watches.
Frederique Constant develops, assembles, and tests a wide variety of mechanical, quartz, and connected timepieces at its 6,200-square-meter Manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva. To date, Frederique Constant has designed 30 in-house calibers, including high complications such as the Tourbillon, Perpetual Calendar, and Flyback Chronograph, as well as a completely new type of escapement in watchmaking: the Monolithic, made from a single piece of silicon and oscillating at a frequency of 40 Hz, ten times the frequency of a traditional timepiece. In 2015, Frederique Constant launched the Horological Smartwatch, the first Swiss Made connected watch with a traditional aesthetic. In 2018, the Classic Hybrid Manufacture succeeded it, combining an in-house mechanical movement with smart features. This was followed in 2020 by the Smartwatch Vitality line, equipped with a next-generation integrated heart rate sensor. That same year, Frederique Constant revived its Highlife collection with a redesigned case and an interchangeable integrated strap. This was followed in 2021 by the Slimline Monolithic Manufacture, featuring its ultra-high-frequency monobloc escapement, and then by the Highlife for women. Frederique Constant currently has nearly 3,000 points of sale distributed across 120 countries. Since 2016, the Frederique Constant Group (Frederique Constant, Alpina Watches, Ateliers de Monaco) has been part of the Japanese Citizen Group to pursue its international development and foster new synergies. Frederique Constant watches, created in 1988 by two enthusiasts, boast not only a graceful design but also unbeatable quality at a price point for their in-house movement complications. Each watch is hand-assembled using traditional methods and meticulously inspected with state-of-the-art equipment to guarantee the highest quality and durability.
Frédérique Constant watches are available in Alsace, in the Grand Est region of France, through its sole official retailer in the Haut-Rhin department (68), Bollwerk in Mulhouse , the only Frédérique Constant boutique as far north as Strasbourg. Bollwerk Joailliers in Belfort, also an official distributor of Frédérique Constant watches in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, is the only Frédérique Constant boutique as far north as Besançon.
