How to measure your ring size

To avoid ending up with a ring that's too loose or too tight, you need to know your ring size. For men and women, the ring measurement is the same. It's your finger circumference that determines your ring size. It's important to understand that this is the only measurement that allows you to know the correct ring size when you want to buy gold or silver jewelry. By measuring your finger circumference, you'll know the ring size that will fit you perfectly. So, discover in this article how to measure your ring size!

What is ring size?

A ring's measurement, or ring size, is a multiple of 10 of the finger's circumference in centimeters. In other words, a ring's size is its circumference in millimeters. If the finger measures 5.2 cm (52 mm), then the ring size is 52 (5.2 x 10). It's important to note that not all countries use the same system for ring sizing.

In France and Europe, ring size is equal to its circumference. On average, a women's ring measures between 52 and 54 (5.2 and 5.4 cm). For a men's ring, the average size is between 60 and 62 (6 and 6.2 cm).

How to find your ring size using a ring sizer?

How do you find your ring size? The easiest way to avoid mistakes when buying a ring is to use a ring sizer or a ring size guide. You can simply print the ring sizer to have it in paper format. Just place your ring on the appropriate circle to find your ring size and diameter. If you don't have a printer, you can also use a digital ring sizer.

Download it at full size and do the same thing as with the paper version, but on your screen. Place your ring on the appropriate circle and find your ideal ring size. You'll also be able to determine its diameter.

Using the measurement obtained with a tape measure, you can find your ring size using the table below. Simply convert the diameter to mm or the finger circumference to cm to find the corresponding ring size.

If you're unsure of a millimeter or two, we recommend always rounding up to the nearest millimeter or centimeter. You can also simply choose a larger ring size. And if you don't have a flexible measuring tape, you can use a ribbon. Simply make a mark where the ends of the ribbon meet. Then, measure that section of ribbon with a ruler.

Once again, with the result obtained, you can refer to the men's and women's ring size conversion chart found further down in the article.
